So how many of you have been camping with a group? Be it scouts, friends, or you are a hitchhiker and pitch a tent with randoms all the time.. Most of us have camped or have been in the sticks. This place in Thornsburg is definitely worth the trip. If you live on the east coast anyway...
First things first- the staff (almost non existent) is uber-friendly! Like the old man at the main gate is just as old and happy as he wants to be. Skinny Santa Claus or something. Next, the cabin and RV neighbors are really cool. Music is playing and bonfires are going all over the place and everyone is cool about it.
The best seasons to visit are the Memorial and Halloween weeks. Everything is very festive and people are very open and friendly!
If I had to rate this place (which is more of a campground than resort by far) then I would say 4/5 stars. One star is missing due to the lack of preservation in the area. While riding in my friend's golf cart, I noticed gravel and a construction site towards the edge of the area. Very sad that urbanization is creeping in on this natural beauty.
Before its desecrated- come visit!!
